PULSEBEAT MEDIA’s television division, Pulsebeat.TV produces “Pulsebeat with Greg Dunmore” an award-winning television show, directed by Emmy Award winner and Silver Circle recipient Joel Boykin. The show is televised on the ABC Detroit affiliate owned TV20 WMYD.
We are also very proud of our record label PULSEBEAT DIGITAL which includes such brilliantly talented world acclaimed artists as jazzy cabaret pianist & singer Ms. Jo Thompson and jazz vocalist Harvey Thompson (who currently lives in Japan.)
"The Greg Dunmore Vibe” is one of the most popular shows on Detroit’s 910 AM Superstation WFDF heard on traditional radio in metro Detroit and globally via the iHeartRadio network. Also, via the worldwide web PULSEBEAT MEDIA produces the PULSEBEAT PODCAST/VODCAST with host Greg Dunmore originally filmed at Aretha’s Jazz Café at Detroit’s historical Music Hall and will be moving to an upcoming celebrity downtown Detroit hotspot which will be receiving national attention.

Greg Dunmore
(Multimedia Journalist/Executive Producer)
Dunmore is often called: “Dr. Entertainment” as he was named by Mildred Gaddis during his weekly PULSEBEAT.TV segments on her namesake Radio One Detroit show. Dunmore is an award-winning multimedia journalist and the executive producer of PULSEBEAT MEDIA. Also, Dunmore is a record producer and writer for PULSEBEAT MEDIA’S record label: PULSEBEAT DIGITAL
He has interviewed celebrities such as: Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson, Tony Bennett, Pavarotti, Nancy Wilson and Whitney Houston and is a founding member of the National Association of Black Journalists’ Arts & Entertainment Task Force.
Dunmore illustrious career has included positions with the Michigan Chronicle, the Detroit News and BET (Black Entertainment Television.) His popular and insightful art, entertainment, celebrity, culture and lifestyle interviews have been shared internationally via the PULSEBEAT PODCAST/VODCAST on Facebook page Pulsebeat.TV
His television show: “Pulsebeat with Greg Dunmore” is televised on both ABC’s Detroit affiliate and on TV33 (Comcast Detroit Channel 91.) Moreover, Dunmore is the host of the popular radio show: "The Greg Dunmore Vibe” heard on traditional radio in metro Detroit and globally on the iHeart Radio network.
Joel Boykin
(Videographer/Executive Producer)
Joel Boykin is a partner and award-winning videographer with PULSEBEAT MEDIA. Joel’s career includes the distinction of being the first Black camerawoman in Detroit television history to serve as a videographer for both ABC and NBC affiliates. Also, Joel was Detroit’s first Bureau Chief for BET (Black Entertainment Television, one of her greatest accomplishments during that time was supporting acclaimed television news anchor/reporter Ed Gordon in his first national role with BET.
Joel is a proud graduate of the University of Michigan and her impressive career as a videographer includes a body of work that spans ABC’s WXYZ, PBS and NBC’s WDIV. She has two Emmys; two Associated Press Awards and executive produced the Emmy nominated “Detroit Jazz Jewels” television special. Her most recent award is the National Association of Black Journalists’ “Award of Excellence in Television for PULSEBEAT.TV.
Currently, Joel serves as the producer/director of the PULSEBEAT PODCAST/VODCAST with noted multimedia A&E journalist Greg Dunmore. Joel also directs and produces “Greg Dunmore’s Hot Happenings!!!” televised on both ABC’s Detroit affiliate TV20 WMYD and on TV33 (Comcast Detroit Channel 91.)
A seasoned photojournalist, Joel continues to share her passion for videography with other budding creatives as a professor at Wayne County Community College District. Her mantra is : “What an ongoing BLESSING it is to say, ‘Lights, Camera, Action!!!‘
Michelle Parizon
(Director of Placement and Strategic Engagement)
Michelle Parizon is the Director of Placement and Strategic Engagement at PULSEBEAT MEDIA.
She studied telecommunication at Michigan State University and has a degree in Mass Communication from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Her career includes her tenure with WDIV TV as a promotions associate, serving as Gannet Broadcasting’s top selling account executive , and serving as the former Public Affairs Director for WXON TV, Detroit.
Michelle’s experience in corporate training includes UAW Chrysler, and she has developed training modules for Comcast and McDonalds. She is an author, and adjunct professor at Wayne County Community College District.
Akil Alvin
(Film/Video Associate Producer/Director)
Born and raised in the City of Detroit and an alum of the prestigious Detroit School of Arts, Akil Alvin is breaking barriers for young directors/producers in the world of Television and Film.
Akil is Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Digital Detroit Media, a multi-Media Content creation company, empowering ambitious brands to thrive in contemporary culture through a unique mix of storytelling, insights, and branding. Digital Detroit Media boast an impressive list of clients including Ford Motor Company, McDonalds, Henry Ford Health System, Detroit Tigers, to name a few.
Akil has worked with several notable names in the world of entertainment, politics, and business and continues to expand his company through an ambitious advisory partnership with Warner Media, formerly Time Warner. Akil motto is: “Stay far from timid – only make moves when your heart is in it – and live in the phrase, the sky is the limit!!”
Derrick Simpson
(Director of Production and Technical Services)
A proud Detroiter, with over 30 years of creative and technical film and print to digital expertise, Simpson has truly made his mark in Detroit, Los Angeles and Chicago.
Simpson is an accomplished video motion graphics and digital retoucher. His impressive background in the comic book industry includes his role as a colorist for the acclaimed comic book series illuminati as Arvell Jones of the Marvel and DC fame.
